Our History

Scouts BSA • Chartered 1948

Troop 9 of New Egypt, NJ was established in 1948 by a group of 16 young eager scouts wanting to explore and live the outdoor adventure. The troop is still growing with a group of 20+ scouts who live the scout oath and law in their everyday lives.

What makes our unit unique is the camouflage shirts that we wear everywhere – meetings, campouts, school, etc. People identify us as a unit – one that works together and is proud of our troop.

Troop 9 also does many community projects. Scouting for Food, American Legion cleanup, and flag placements at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery are just to name a few.
