Troop 9 New Egypt, NJ was established in 1948 by a group of 16 young eager scouts wanting to explore and live the outdoor adventure.
The troop is still growing with a group of 20+ scouts who live the scout oath and law in their everyday lives. What makes our unit unique is the camouflage shirts that we wear everywhere – meetings, campouts, school, etc.
People identify us as a unit – one that works together and is proud of our troop. We have an annual rummage sale and the profits go to the troop and the boys. This helps pay for campouts throughout the year. Troop 9 also does many community projects. Scouting for food, American Legion cleanup, and flag placements at the veteran’s cemetery are just to name a few.
